Texas native Brennan Blankenship has been described as “one of the most unique, beautiful and flexible voices… in a young singer. She is a gifted interpretive artist, and brings immense natural skill to all she performs…” She knows the value of great singing paired with great acting, and makes it a point to achieve both while performing a role. She has been engaged by a number of professional companies in Houston as well as in the Twin Cities Area and Minnesota. Her most notable engagements include the role of Mrs. Noye in Noye’s Fludde with Northern Lights Music Festival in Aurora, MN, and as a Studio artist and cover for Rosina in Mill City Summer Opera’s production of Il barbiere di Siviglia. Other performances include the Second Woman in Minnesota Oratorio Society’s production of Dido and Aeneas and as a chorus member with both Northern Lights Music Festival and Skylark Opera. The First Prize winner of The Young Texas Artists Music Competition (2017) most recently performed the role of Dritte Dame in Berlin Opera Company’s production of Die Zauberflöte in Berlin Germany. The graduate from the University of Minnesota’s Masters program performed in several of the University’s productions, including the roles of the Fox in The Cunning Little Vixen, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Meg Page in Falstaff. While at the Uof M, she also sang the Minnesota premiere of Mortiz Moszkowski’s song cycle Thränen with pianist Joseph Welch in 2013.
