Audrey Gwillim – Vocals & Percussion
Audrey Gwillim, originally from Bristol, CT moved to Charlotte, NC in May of 2006. She grew up listening to her Dad’s 45’s and 33’s from when he was a DJ during the late 70’s and early 80’s. While exploring his music collection she was exposed to many different genres of music including Rock and Roll, Pop, Disco, Classic Rock and Soul. Some of her early influences are The Eagles, Chicago, Gloria Gaynor, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Michael Jackson and the Bee Gee’s. In addition to those artists Audrey was also influenced early on by Patsy Cline, her Grandfather’s favorite singer. After he passed away when she was 9 years old, Audrey and her Grandmother would listen to Patsy Cline’s greatest hits over and over for hours. Her Grandmother hearing Audrey sing along with the songs soon recognized her talent and encouraged her love of singing and music. Audrey continued pursuing her love of music throughout grammar and middle school at St. Joseph’s Catholic School where she would occasionally cantor for school Masses and events. Audrey was also encouraged to continue to pursue music by her music teacher Robert Carter to whom she keeps in contact with today. Throughout high school at St. Paul Catholic High, Audrey was part of the choral program. She would also sing in school concerts, talent shows and was soon asked to sing the National Anthem for the varsity home games for a variety of sports. After graduating high school she attended The Hartford Conservatory of Music majoring in Jazz Vocals where she discovered a love for Jazz Standards. After moving to Charlotte, she continued to evolve her love for music by singing with local musicians and friends. In 2011, Audrey joined the worship band at Team Church in Matthews, NC and was introduced to contemporary Christian music in which she soon felt a deep connection to. Life soon brought her to NYC where she was introduced to Mimi’s Italian Restaurant and Piano Bar where Hunter Blue (aka Chicken Delicious) would invite Audrey to sing with him. Audrey’s travels have also brought her to Myrtle Beach where she is invited to sing with Larry Tanelli and Claudette at Crave Italian Oven and Bar and also at Eighty Eights Piano Bar with Jerry Layne. Audrey has also performed in St. Petersburg, FL at Ruby’s Elixir and in West Palm Beach at NY Prime Steakhouse. After a chance run-in at Char Bar 7 in Charlotte, Audrey was introduced to Craig & Brad and after a brief conversation the wheels were set into motion and now Audrey is the newest member of the Borderlyne Band!!!
Craig Fugit – Drums & Vocals
Craig is the founding member of Borderlyne, which was formed in 2010. Originally from Glendale, AZ, Craig picked up the sticks at age 12 and was playing professionally by age 15. “Our guitar player’s dad hauled us and all of our gear around to our gigs because we were all too young to drive,” recalls Craig. While others were flipping burgers, Craig worked his way through High School and College by performing with a number of Classic Rock & Roll bands including King’s Ransom, The Ramblers, Chaser and Ezra. Craig’s main drumming influences include Max Weinberg, Kenny Aronoff and Tommy Igoe. Some of his musical favorites include The Beatles, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Smithereens, The Pretenders and KC & The Sunshine Band….just kidding about that last one!!! Craig has a real passion for playing music and genuinely loves what he loves….making great music with great friends and laying down a super solid in-the-pocket groove for Borderlyne!!!
Brad Morris – Guitar & Vocals
An Ohio native but a longtime West Virginian, Brad attended Miami University in Oxford, OH. Prominent in his father’s record collection were various instrumental heroes of the 60s – the Ventures and Duane Eddy – as well as Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, the Beatles, the Byrds and other pioneers. They led to a lifelong fascination with all things six-string (and twelve). With one or both feet often planted outside the musical mainstream, he always has an ear out for a clever riff or irresistible pop hook from some diverse sources: UK New Wave (Squeeze, The Jam, Nick Lowe, the Pretenders); College rock/alternative acts such as REM, the Smithereens and the Hoodoo Gurus as well as Britpop mainstays Teenage Fanclub and Oasis. He’s also a fan of Dwight Yoakam, the Derailers, and other honky tonk traditionalists. “To paraphrase Shakespeare, the song’s the thing” says he. “A musical impression can be made by two people or two hundred provided they are all committed to their own parts and the overall sound.” Brad has played as a frontman and/or lead guitarist in a succession of bands in Southwest Ohio and with touring acts visiting clubs, fairs and festivals across West Virginia.
