In 2003, James Schleicher and Jimmy Mrozek got an opportunity to play in the talent show at Willoughby’s Oktoberfest and soon the Dear Jimmy Band was born. The name steaming from the two original members’ first names as well as a column that band member Schleicher wrote in the school newspaper while attending Notre Dame College.
The band began performing smaller acoustic shows in the area, and, after a few years, the band extended an invite to Michael Clements to play drums at a few shows, which turned into a full-time membership and enhanced the sound that the band was looking for.
In 2015, the group rounded out with the addition of the multi-talented Joel McDaniel on the keys and backup vocals. Early 2016 saw the departure of Michael Clements and James Scheicher, and the addition of Bob Wick as a fulltime drummer to continue to develop the group sound.
Dear Jimmy Band regularly plays throughout Downtown Willoughby, Mentor, Geneva, and the greater Cleveland Area. DJB also has performed on Fox 8 in the Morning, Cleveland Scene’s Taste of Summer, Cleveland Scene’s Willoughby Rib Burn-off, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and many private events.
