The Las Vegas Weekly named Toney Rocks as one of the top 10 Acts to Watch in 2017. His sound is an Americana mixture of country, blues and rock with intermittent burst of expansive looped instrumental performances and imaginative songwriting.
His latest tour across the United States in support of his new album, DRIFTING, releasing worldwide August 1, 2018, featured headlining performances as well as supporting dates with blues/jazz/rock guitar master, Robben Ford. Toney Rocks is also performed at the stoic Florida Folk Festival, Logan Summerfest, and will be performing at central Florida’s, The Planet Festival and Dover Delaware’s OctDover Fest.
No one sounds quite like Toney Rocks. However, his music is familiar and assuring. With DRIFTING, Rocks delivers his unique approach to acoustic Americana stylings coupled with songwriting that presents vivid storytelling revolving around experiences of the world around him. Drifting is a solo album that features the artist’s soulfully-gritty singing over either acoustic guitar, piano, or ukulele. On the title track “Drifting”, Rocks sets the atmosphere with a hypnotizing loop that, when performed live, fans describe as “psychedelic folk”. The album drifts from socially preceptive to internally revealing.
Toney Rocks latest single releases, “Run to the Night” & “Not Gonna Run”, are featured on popular music blogs and radio shows around the world. He was featured on ABC27 Good Day PA performing music from his upcoming album. On the latest music, Ray Sang from UK blog IndustryME says, “I was sold as soon as I heard the husky tones of Toney’s voice”. Kathy Forste, Music Director of KC Cafe Radio said, “Toney Rocks voice is cool and sweet, rocking and lyrical. His songs are thoughtful and hummable…”.
In passed years, Toney Rocks has shared the stage with folk music legend, David Bromberg, as well as opened for acclaimed blues artists such as Corey Harris and Jarekus Singleton in addition to his own headlining concerts.
