Born in Zambia, Africa, Mwiza came to the U.S when he was 10. He grew up with music such as Gospel, Rock, Pop, as well as African music but it wasn’t until his 7th grade year that he became interested in it. He learned how to sing from his chorus experience from 5th to 8th grade but then quit chorus to pursue art from 9th to 12th grade at the Osceola County School for the Arts. He started learning how to play guitar at the end of his 9th grade and has focused on the acoustic guitar throughout this time.
He first started making his own music while having jam sessions at school with his friends but soon managed to join the band The Avalon Broadcast. His time in the band helped with giving him song writing skills as well as finding out what style of music he wanted to play, but after graduating from high school he left central Florida and moved to Tampa. He currently goes to the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. Most of the music he listens to has a darker sound to it so he in turn makes darker, melodic music.
