Bonnie Williams

Bonnie WilliamsBonnie paints Plein air/outdoors most of the time. Landscapes, buildings and florals inspire her, especially when the light creates interesting colors, textures and shapes. Her paintings explain what she loves about nature’s beauty where she finds it in America the beautiful and traveling abroad. Every brushstroke is a decision about the story being told. That is what she likes about painting watercolors. It is an exercise in creative planning and executing against a wet or dry surface. Timing is of the essence!
For as long as she remembers, she has loved drawing and painting, using pencils, pens, all kinds of markers and especially brushes. She started painting outside in high school art club. Except for some workshops, she is a self-taught artist that spends time studying, practicing and looking at fine art. She is known for her extensive collection of travel journals in watercolor and pen. Her original plan was to become a commercial artist. She earned Bachelor and Masters’ degrees in Business & Human Resource Management and Development. She eventually became a corporate regional HR executive. Occasionally her art showed up as visuals at management training.
In retirement, she joyfully pursues watercolor painting and love painting “en plein air” (painting outside). She has taught watercolor classes and have participated as a Board member in several art associations. She was the President of the Rancho Bernardo Art Association in San Deigo and was juried into the San Diego Watercolor Society Gallery shows. She is past President of the El Dorado Hills Art Association and belong to the Folsom Art Association. Her work is shown at national, local and member shows.
