I’m Maja! I was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, and as a child I was always crafting, painting, drawing and experimenting with art. Because of my love of creating and experimenting, my parents enrolled me in an art school starting in 4th grade. I absolutely loved it and it was during this period that I took my first b&w film photography class, and fell in love with it! There was something about capturing a moment in time and seeing it develop into something permanent and tangible in the darkroom.
In 2006 I decided to move from Sweden to California to attend College. I continued taking both art and photography classes but I soon realized that it was photography I wanted to focus on and not long after I earned my Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Photography. Since earning my degree I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of people and clients- from brides and grooms to musicians and fashion designers.
To me, photography should be stylish and fun. I love mixing a classical retro feel with a clean modern look. I do all my sessions on location, whether it is in a park or a place that is special to you. A photography session with me is both fun and relaxed. My job is to make you feel comfortable and to take great pictures that reflects who you are.
I love the look and feel of natural light and always try to use as much of it as possible in my photography. For larger events such as weddings I take a documentary approach to my photography, creating images that tell the story, with pictures working on their own and as a whole.
In addition to photography, I still absolutely love working and experimenting with a wide arrange of different art forms. I particularly enjoy combining different kinds of mediums, working with watercolors, gouache, acrylics, pen and ink.
