Jacob White, HornJacob White, a native of Owasso, Oklahoma, Jacob White is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance at Oklahoma State University under the tutelage of Lanette Lopez Compton. Jacob is an avid performer and currently performs with the OSU Wind Ensemble, OSU Symphony Orchestra, OSU Horn Choir, OSU Horn Octet, and BAHQ. In the past he has performed with the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute Symphony Orchestra and the FOOSA Philharmonic in Fresno, California.
Jacob is an avid music arranger and frequently arranges music in his free time. He has been arranging music for various ensembles for more than five years. Many of his arrangements have been played by the OSU Horn Choir, OSU Trombone Choir, OSU Saxophone Octet, and the University of Arkansas Mellophone Section. Jacob’s arrangements have been played at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois, the Trombonanza Festival in Argentina, and at various schools through the southern United States. Most of his currentJacob White, Horn arrangements are for Horn Octet, Horn Choir, Brass Quintet, or Brass Choir.
Jacob also frequently composes music and has most recently written music for horn and piano. His composition, “In a Forsaken World” Concertino for Horn and Piano, was premiered in Spring 2017 on his senior recital by Richard Riedl and Michael Schneider (pianomike.com). He was recently commissioned by Denise Tryon, Professor of Horn at the Peabody Institute, to write a piece for low horn and piano, which will be premiered sometime in late 2018.
